Overview
YT32/M2 aerial ladder fire truck is a kind of urban firefighting vehicle integrated with high-altitude rescue and firefighting functions. It inherits existing mature elevating fire truck technologies, and makes breakthroughs in superstructure aerial ladder R&D and manufacturing technology, turntable leveling-control technology, dual-rotation and dual-screw winch telescoping technology, multiple-mode operating curve control technology, independent working platform leveling control technology, and other core technologies.
YT32M2 uses ZZ5357TXFV464ME1 class-2 chassis of HOWO T-series, 4-section telescopic aerial ladder, PLKD48 electronically-controlled dual-purpose fire monitor manufactured by Zhangqiu Fire Equipment Co., Ltd., and the water pump CB12/60-TB manufactured by Shaanxi Aerospace Power Co. Ltd, and meets the National V Emission Standards. YT32/M2 is flexible, strong in site adaptability, fast in rescue speed, and high in technology safety, widely used in firefighting and rescue work of mines, oil fields, towns, factories and other mid-rise buildings, and is necessary in firefighting, personnel rescue, and property rescue for high-rise buildings.
Features
² YT32M2 selects ZZ5357TXFV464ME1 class-2 chassis of HOWO T-series, which has high performance, large bearing capacity, specific power of 11.2 (324kW/29t) and sufficient power reserve, and meets the National V Emission Standards.
² The firefighting system is equipped with complete functions and the performance of the pump monitor performance is good. The CB12/60-TB water pump (with a vacuum pump) system manufactured by Shaanxi Aerospace Power Co. Ltd. is used, driven by a full-power extractor, and has sufficient power reserve. PLKD48 electronically-controlled dual-purpose fire monitor manufactured by Zhangqiu Fire Equipment Co., Ltd. is used as the platform fire monitor. The inlet, outlet, and the control valve are configured, being convenient for operations. The truck is equipped with a firefighting liquid tank of 5150kg, including 2750 kg of water and 2400 kg of foam. Aluminum alloy telescopic water pipes are used as firefighting pipes.
² The truck can realize the following functions based on the PLC and CAN bus distributed control technology: chassis automatic leveling, superstructure real-time leveling, platform load weighing, platform ultrasonic wave anti-collision detection, posture dynamic monitoring, and one-click truck retraction.
1) Advanced aerial ladder extension and retraction control technology helps realize the aerial ladder’s automatic deceleration and stop and makes the aerial ladder operates smoothly.
2) Multiple working condition control modes can effectively improve the aerial ladder truck’s rescue capability and give full play to the aerial ladder truck’s functions.
3) With the LS load-sensitive control system of the variable displacement piston pump used, the hydraulic system is energy conservation, efficient, and is with operating performance.
² The truck has multiple operating modes:
1) Bridging operations: With strong rescue ability and a maximum rescue range of 20 m, the truck can save 12 people at one time.
2) Working platform operation: can realize working platform rescue and firefighting operations.
² The working platform can be overturned by 90° in a driving status, so the driving view is wide and the driving is safe.
² The aerial ladder rung aligning function improves the security that rescued people climb along the rung.
² YT32M2 is fast and efficient, has strong rescue ability, and takes 25s for outrigger moving and 55s for superstructure moving.
² The advanced winch telescopic technology uses a dual-rotation and dual-screw winch structure, can be equipped with two sets of telescopic systems, and is safe. Hydraulic and electric limiting position systems effectively ensure that the truck can work safely and reliably.

Main Components Description
Aerial ladder | The ladder uses a telescopic truss structure with four sections and each section is welded by high strength steel. The pre-deformation technology of the arc ladder is used to offset partial deformation after the whole ladder is loaded, so as to improve the safety of the ladder frame and the stability of the expansion. The telescopic system consists of a winching system and a 2-wire rope system and each section of the ladder is driven by two sets of wire ropes, realizing synchronous telescopic of the ladder truck. |
Working platform | The working platform is in high strength steel frame structure; you can achieve a variety of actions on the platform; a fire water monitor was equipped to realize aerial and long-range fire; talk back equipment is installed to communicate with the ground staff.
The platform leveling adopts electro-hydraulic proportional control technology to realize continuous and smooth leveling of the platform. The emergency manual leveling function is set up. The emergency manual leveling adopts a single foot treading type, so the leveling of the work platform can be realized simply by continuously pressing and leveling the foot lever and the operation is simple and convenient. |
Slew drives | The turntable Slew drives works in double-side and double-vertical plate box-structure; a slewing system driven by a hydraulic motor is arranged at the right side of the turntable. Hydraulic system | The main system uses a pressure/flow automatic variable pump. The main control valve uses the imported load sensitive control valve and forms a closed core load sensitive control mode and constant pressure control mode, together with the variable pump, to achieve the slewing of the superstructure, boom elevating, telescoping, and crank arm elevating actions. The system is started under low pressure, saves energy, and is efficient. Imported elements are used for key components, such as the hydraulic main control valve, balance valve, etc. Imported sealing elements are used for the sealing of central rotary joints, hydraulic cylinders and other key components; hydraulic hard pipes are made of high-precision galvanized seamless steel pipes; the system is safe and reliable with smooth movement and good fretting. The outrigger jack cylinder of the hydraulic system is equipped with the hydraulic lock and each elevating cylinder is equipped with the balance valve, ensuring that the locking of each cylinder in the hydraulic system is reliable and the boom & outrigger are not retracted in any condition (sudden power odd or hydraulic system fault). Turntable swing is equipped with a rotary buffering valve, which is stable in starting and reliable in brake. The hydraulic system is equipped with the maximum pressure control valve, which can effectively prevent the system pressure overload. The power of the hydraulic system is driven by power take-off at the chassis side. In addition, a standby power source is set up, which is driven by a gasoline engine. The standby power can realize all vehicle movements when the vehicle is retracted. A drain ball valve is installed in a hydraulic oil box, which beings convenience and high speed for hydraulic oil check and replacement. |
Safety Control System
The unique safety device and control system ensure that the safety and reliability of the vehicle in firefighting and rescue operations. The safety device of the vehicle is composed of electrical control system and hydraulic control system, and plays a role of double insurance. When the electrical control system fails, the hydraulic control system can still ensure the normal use of the ladder assembly in the safe area. The truck’s safety control devices are as follows:
1) Work range limit: Trucks determine radius limit according to different elevating angles to ensure that the trucks always work within safe ranges.
2) Soft leg control: In the operation process, if one outrigger does not bear suppression, sound and light alarm signals are reported and the boom cannot go towards a dangerous direction and can go a safe direction.
3) Upper and lower interlock devices: When the chassis outrigger is not firmly supported or the chassis leveled, the superstructure cannot perform any operation before leveling the car body. When the cantilever crane is not retracted inside the bracket, the vehicle cannot perform any movements.
4) Deceleration stop device for luffing and extending to limit position of cantilever crane is equipped. When the vehicle boom reaches the elevating angle and is fully retracted or extended, the action speed decreases automatically, and the action stops automatically when the extreme value is reached.
5) Ladder meso-position drop protection device: When the ladder and platform are close to the tank or cab on the side or above, the boom can fall on the support when the ladder is positioned.
6) Platform anti-collision protection: The front and the bottom of the platform have ultrasonic anti-collision device equipped. When the platform approaches the obstacle, the device will automatically stop the platform and all boom actions towards the unsafe direction; the screen will display the corresponding icon and text prompt.
7) Overload control of working platform: When the load on the work platform is overweight, the corresponding icon and text prompt will appear on the screen. At the same time, an alarm is reported. At this time, workload on the platform should be reduced.
8) Cab protection control: When the boom is within 60° on the left and right of the cab and with an elevation of less than 10°, the boom actions should be limited to avoid damage caused by collision between the boom or working platform and the cab. Corresponding icons and text prompts will appear on the screen, and an alarm will be reported at the same time.
9) Working platform anti-rollover protection: In any condition, if the inclination between the working platform and the horizontal plane is above 10°, operations will automatically stop and the engine will stop.
10) Wind speed monitoring and protection: An anemograph is installed to monitor the wind speed. Once the wind speed exceeds a specified value, the ladder assembly lifting and extending will stop and an alarm is reported.
11) Telescopic protection device: When the aerial ladder extends or retracts to a limit position, the limit valve at the limit position will automatically unload to help the aerial ladder to reliably stop at the limit position.
