Interpretation of the "13th Five-Year Plan" Where is the special vehicle Market?
When it comes to the "13th Five-Year Plan" of the special vehicle industry, one has to mention the import and export situation of special vehicles. In this issue, the editor will try to interpret the export characteristics of the special vehicle industry during the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period for reference by those in the industry.

As shown in the above table, during the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, my country's export volume and export value of special vehicles are on the rise. From 2010 to 2012, the export volume of special purpose vehicles increased significantly. In 2015, my country’s export volume of special purpose vehicles was 17,116, a year-on-year increase in decline; exports earned US$1.669 billion in foreign exchange, a trend that rebounded year-on-year.
In terms of imports, the number of domestic imports has not changed much on the whole. It is mainly manifested in a few car models in the medical, airport, and firefighting fields. Ordinary models are no longer competitive in the domestic market. Below, we will focus on understanding the export situation of special vehicles in 2015.

In terms of export models, concrete mixer trucks and crane trucks continued to be the main export models of my country's special-purpose vehicles in 2015, and the export volume of these two models accounted for 57.69% of the total export volume of special-purpose vehicles. However, compared with 2014, the export volume and value in the same period in 2015 both declined.
In 2015, except for the five models of crane trucks, medical vehicles, petroleum vehicles, radio communication vehicles and road snowplows, which showed a downward trend year-on-year in terms of number or export value, the export volume and value of other models showed positive year-on-year growth. Among them, the export volume and export value of aircraft special vehicles increased the most significantly year-on-year, with 271.43% and 442.06% respectively.
Outlet flow direction
In 2015, China's special-purpose vehicles were mainly exported to Asian and African countries, with an export volume of more than 10,000 vehicles, followed by Africa and Latin America, ranking second and third respectively. North America still has the least export volume. Less than 500 vehicles. Based on this, it can be seen that most of my country's export special vehicles are low-end products, and there are few high-end products.
In 2015, Vietnam became China's largest export market for special purpose vehicles. The export volume reached 2,456 units, an increase of 191.34% year-on-year; the foreign exchange earned from exports was US$235 million, an increase of 296.19% year-on-year, and both the export volume and the export value showed substantial growth year-on-year. Followed by Venezuela and the Philippines.
The cumulative export volume and value of Vietnam, Venezuela and the Philippines accounted for 30.01% and 31.02% of the total export volume. It is worth noting that Myanmar, Saudi Arabia, Thailand and Algeria’s export volume or export value have all declined to varying degrees. Among them, Algeria’s export volume and export value have dropped significantly, with a decrease of over 50%.
Export shipping place
From the perspective of export shipment places, in 2015, a total of 28 provinces in my country realized special-purpose vehicle exports. The top five provinces in export volume are still Hunan, Shandong, Hubei, Jiangsu, and Beijing. The concentration of exports is 67.11%, and foreign exchange earnings from exports account for 74.64%.
On the whole, the export volume of my country's special vehicles is considerable, and serialization and scale have been achieved, with relative cost advantages. However, due to insufficient product R&D capabilities and core competitiveness accumulation, and the low brand awareness, my country's special-purpose vehicle exports mainly rely on volume to win, making "hard money". In this case, where is the export of my country's special-purpose vehicle industry?
Where is the exit
Although my country's special-purpose vehicles can crush many countries in terms of export volume, it is still unable to compare with leading well-known multinational companies in terms of product technology, exterior design and automation. At present, my country's special-purpose vehicle export should focus on product quality, cost and service.
In terms of service, strong special-purpose vehicle companies can set up service outlets and agents for exporting special-purpose vehicles overseas, or cooperate with OEMs. In the early stage, OEMs or agents can be entrusted to do after-sales services in the target country's market. After becoming bigger and stronger, you can consider investing in overseas factories to realize localized production and services.
At present, my country's special-purpose vehicle exports are mainly concentrated in developing countries such as Asia and Africa, and regions and countries such as Europe, America, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and Russia are rarely involved. Therefore, special-purpose vehicle companies should actively explore markets in ASEAN, South America, Russia, and Eastern Europe, especially the ASEAN market.
Special-purpose vehicle companies can also find target customers and some valuable overseas purchasing agents and distributors by participating in professional exhibitions to broaden their sales channels.
In addition, make good use of such policies as export tax rebates, small and medium-sized enterprises to explore international markets, and fiscal interest discounts to reduce the cost of sales of enterprises.
