Wuhan Expo Center Hosts Annual Commercial Vehicle Exhibition

The Wuhan International Expo Center hosted the Wuhan Commercial Vehicle Auto Show from April 17th to April 20th. The exhibition showcased a significant number of special-purpose vehicles, occupying not only halls A5 and A6 but also several other halls.

CSCTRUCK, a prominent Hubei-based manufacturer of special-purpose vehicles, took part in the event with great pride.

An intelligent driving sweeper was showcased by Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle, while Shaanxi Automobile exhibited a pure electric sweeper with an L3000 chassis. This indicates that major OEMs are now competing for a share in the special vehicle market, especially in the lucrative sanitation vehicle segment.

The market for these vehicles has seen tremendous growth, thanks in part to policies like the "Notice on Comprehensively Carrying out Domestic Garbage Sorting in Cities at the Prefectural Level and Above". Given the emphasis on emissions in this sector, many truck chassis are now equipped with pure electric or National VI technology. BYD's electric sanitation chassis currently holds a significant market share in this space.

CSCTRUCK and Liangshan special-purpose vehicle companies organized a delegation to participate in the auto show. Suizhou special-purpose vehicle companies occupied the entire A6 exhibition hall and showcased various special vehicle products, including cranes, aerial work vehicles, sanitation vehicles, power supply emergency vehicles, livestock transport vehicles, radio and TV vehicles, municipal emergency repair vehicles, vehicle-mounted smart kitchen vehicles. These vehicles are equipped with well-known brands of chassis such as Mercedes-Benz, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle, Foton Motor, and Sinotruk Medium and Heavy Truck.

Suizhou, known as the capital of special-purpose vehicles in China, has nearly 200 special-purpose vehicle companies, such as Hubei Chengli and Hubei Wuhuan. Among the showcased vehicles, the livestock transport vehicle and the fire kitchen vehicle stand out.

The livestock transport vehicle is specifically designed for the transportation of large livestock like cattle and sheep. It includes an air-conditioning system for long-distance transportation, an exhaust fan for better air circulation, and a water spray tank for cleaning and cooling during transport.

The onboard smart kitchen car is another highlight. CSCTRUCK offers various consumer-specific products like bath cars and RVs. The onboard smart kitchen car is equipped with refrigerators, cooking machines, washing machines, and a water storage tank for domestic use. The side wings of the cargo box can be opened to provide a meal-receiving platform for firefighters, which provides logistical support for them.

The auto show exhibits indicate that the special-purpose vehicle market is becoming more specialized and competitive. Large companies are entering the market while existing companies are innovating and improving the degree of specialization. This trend is leading to more integrated designs of bodywork and chassis.
